Cybersecurity and horse racing might not seem like an obvious pairing — but they made for a brilliant day of learning and conversation!
The Elite Control Systems team recently joined Underwoods at Hamilton Racecourse for an insightful session featuring speakers from Siemens. They brought IEC 62443 to life, exploring how the standards can help strengthen OT cybersecurity across industrial environments.
One message really stood out: operational technology and information technology have different needs. What works well for IT may not be the right fit for OT, where safety, availability and keeping operations running are all essential.
Getting that balance right helps protect critical infrastructure and supports safer, more secure and more resilient industrial operations.
After a thought-provoking morning, we tucked into a delicious lunch before enjoying an afternoon of horse racing — a great way to round off the day!
A big thank you to the Underwoods team for the invitation and warm hospitality.
